How Positive Are You, Really? 12/07/20
I have a question for you,
How positive are you? Really?
This is not an attack. I’m not calling you a sad-sack or a weeping Witch or, like we say where I’m from, a sourpuss.
Being negative is a part of life sometimes. It is part of the journey that you will inevitably find yourself on. Although, I see it a lot more than people let on.
This is also not a competition. I’m negative sometimes. Heck, there are days when I question what I am doing. I wonder if all this work is worth it in the end. I do—promise.
I think it is something everyone feels, that old begging dog named negativity.
It will scratch at your legs and nip at your ankles. It’ll keep going, too. Until you give that thing a treat and succumb to that negativity, it will continuously bite and bark until it gets what it wants.
I’m with you. I give in at times, too. I’ll down a whole bag of BBQ chips and watch Practical Magic for the 128th time. Your spiral may be a bit different. But you come out of it. You always do. Every single time you peel yourself off the couch and get back to life.
And I’m going to tell you why you do that.
There is an epic battle going on inside you
I worry about people. I think it is a part of being a Witch—at least, the type of Witch that I am.
When I see suffering, it kills me. Believe me, I get messages every day from people who are not customers who feel comfortable enough to reach out and share their troubles. I do my best to help.
I have often thought about why that is; why people reach out when they are feeling negative. I do not think I am special. I think I just happen to be the person their spirit pointed them toward.
Eventually, I realized what it was. I understood. And when I did, it changed my entire perspective on being positive or negative.
Your spirit is trying to help you.
Your spirit will do whatever it can to get you to achieve balance in your life. I believe that your spirit knows where you can find relief. Most people, unfortunately, just do not have the skills to follow that voice.
There is a battle happening between your spirit and your biology. Which one do you think you should listen to?
Your spirit is the part of you that knows
Your spirit knows. It knows where to point you. It knows exactly where you need to be headed. All this communication between the mind and the spirit will happen instantly. At least it will for the people who listen.
You get feelings, right? You get those little inklings that tell you not to do something. Or the ones that tell you to barrel forth into the unknown. That is the spirit. You know what will bring positivity into your life.
You must listen to the correct voice.
That’s not to say doing that will eliminate all suffering. Suffering is a part of this existence. I think it is baked in to some extent. But, you can minimize it by listening to your spirit.
It is speaking right now. It is what brought you to this newsletter. Your spirit brought you to your practice. It brought us together.
So, how positive are you?
I repeat the question to make the point. How positive are you? I think you can reformulate that question into: “How much do you listen to your spirit?”
The answers to both questions will follow a similar pattern.
Your spirit will lead you to the land of positivity. It will bring you to a place where all you see is light. Don’t you want to be there? In that place that seems like heaven on earth? The realm of Angels and Khodam and the beings of light?
As humans, we do not have the willpower to listen every single time. We just don’t. But we can listen more often than we ignore. We can be ahead on the scoreboard. We can put our spirit first, at least.
See how positive you really are. Take a tally of how much you listen to that voice inside you that will always steer you right. And if the light is not winning, change that.
I think you will be amazed at how quickly you see your life change.
Love + Blessings
