Si’lat (Sila) Djinn
Overview
See also: Djinn (general)
Si’lat (SEE-loht), or Sila, are considered one of the most sexual forms of Djinn. They tend to shape-shift into men or women and lure them into bed. However, most are merely lovers looking to find mates.
Generally, they are sexually minded beings who seek to reproduce with humans. Their descriptions fall in line with the Succubi and Incubi, but they are a different entity, although the two are constantly mistaken for one another.
Children born of Si’lat are known as Banu (BON-oo).
Many Arabic curses for unfaithful women involve assigning a malevolent Si’lat to them.
Differentiation From Other Djinn
Si’lat Djinn are not a manifestation of any element, although sightings often occur around thunderstorms and lightning strikes. Unlike the Ifrit or Marid, they do not offer Wish Magick or wealth-drawing abilities. Most Si’lat are simply focused on reproduction and sexual activity.
Like Succubi and Incubi, these are considered Black Magick entities. They are not demons, however. They are a class of Djinn and were created at the same moment as the rest of them.
In particularly cruel fashion, many Arabic sorcerers use them in their Curse Magick. Sometimes, Si’lat do not consent to be used and are forced against their will to enact sexual torture. Mostly, this is used by vengeful husbands, but some women have used them in kind.
Powers & Abilities of the Si’lat
The Si’lat are kept for their companionship and sexual purposes. Their nature is built in such a way that sexual activity and the need to reproduce supersedes any other need they may have.
Most Si’lat are gentle and caring entities. Some can be manipulative, especially the male counterpart. They have often tricked women into sleeping with them and impregnated them with Banu against their will.
Si’lat will appear in physical form. Because of the sexually charged nature of modern society, it is easier for them to appear than it is for, say, the Jann. Most times, they are imperceptible to other humans.
Specific Offerings & Spirit Care Guidelines

Are Si’lat a Good Match For Me?
If you are looking for something other than a Succubi or Incubi, you may find your energy better aligned with the Si’lat. While Succubi and Incubi tend to be the most popular of the sexual entities, Si’lat are just as skilled in human interaction. While not well-known, I believe they will come into the spotlight in the near future once fascination with sexual Demons runs its course. Everyone has their preferences, so if you haven’t been able to connect with a Succubus or Incubus, I urge you to give a Si’lat a try.
